New Frontier Bank

CHALLENGE

With more than 9 million cases of identity theft each year, Americans are becoming more and more aware of the need to guard personal information. In fact, identity theft now rates as one of the top two concerns of the general public — along with the cost of health care — according to the Burson-Marstellar Global Issues Index.
Management at New Frontier Bank, based in Greeley, CO, understands the concern, and the growing importance of shredding confidential documents and other materials.
New Frontier realized that its customers — and others — needed a convenient, easy-to-use tool to facilitate shredding all the documents they needed to destroy. The bank also was seeking ways to provide more services to the communities in which it operates while generating opportunities for people to get to know more about the bank.

SOLUTION

Seeing the immense popularity of its twice-yearly free “shredding days” for the general public, New Frontier acquired three of The Self-Service Shredder™ kiosks from RealTime Shredding, Inc., to provide shredding service on a regular basis.
The kiosks, situated in the lobbies of each of New Frontier’s three locations in northern Colorado, are available for use during all regular lobby hours of operation — at no charge.
The industrial-quality shredders destroy paper, cardboard, credit cards, CDs, DVDs, and even floppy disks all day long. Users gain assurance that their materials have been destroyed with RealTime Shredding’s transparent protective window.

RESULTS

“The Self-Service Shredder™ has been incredibly successful,” according to New Frontier. Each location sees consistent use all day long, every day. Even the kiosk at the bank’s newly opened branch is already experiencing nearly 300 users a month.
Along with reinforcing New Frontier’s commitment to community service and to fighting identity theft, The Self-Service Shredder™ brings people who are not customers into the bank on a consistent, daily basis.
More than 75 percent of first-time visitors take time to talk with a bank employee about the kiosks, and about other services the bank offers. The shredding service provides a concrete opportunity to experience what New Frontier is about — not just in words, but in action.

“The Self-Service Shredder™ has been incredibly
successful. It is a perfect fit for both our customers and the public.”
