Boys Ranch
CHALLENGE
At Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch Independent School District (ISD), a residential children’s placement facility in Amarillo, the staff of 100 is vigilant about shredding all documents and media that contain personal information.
Faced with the need to comply with federal, state, and internal rules and regulations, the staff spent up to 60 hours a week shredding. Administrators understood the importance of document destruction, but also understood their core mission to care for residents.
SOLUTION
The shredder is in operation up to three hours a day, destroying paper, cardboard, credit cards, CDs, DVDs, and even floppies. Staff no longer needs to remove staples or paper clips before shredding papers, and can gain assurance that their materials have been destroyed with RealTime Shredding’s protective window.
RESULTS
The ISD saves $600-1,200 each year by eliminating the purchase of small office shredders it constantly wore out, and another $300-500 by foregoing part-time help it required to stay current with shredding.
The Boys Ranch ISD kiosk will pay for itself in less than a year. But the real return on investment comes in the confidence of meeting shredding requirements safely and in a timely manner.
“When the opportunity to obtain a self-service shredder came along, we had to try it. RealTime Shredding has exceeded our expectations. “
