The Self-Service Shredder acquisitions include first international sale

January 03, 2007 - Businesses and residents in two countries can now shred documents and other materials they need to destroy quickly and conveniently, thanks to more installations of The Self-Service Shredder.

The installations represent a wide variety of uses for The Self-Service Shredder, says Amanda Verrie, president of RealTime Shredding. Eglin Air Force Base's unit is available only to base staff and residents, while The UPS Store and Supplies Etcetera locations offer use to the public. The UPS Store in Monument, Colo., will even help customers who want to shred volumes of old bills, tax returns, or other documents by burning a CD of the information prior to shredding.

Crown Shred & Recycle, says Verrie, is offering self-service shredding to its mobile shredding customers as an additional service. "We see shredding as a problem worldwide, not only in the United States," she explains, "so we designed the kiosk to handle international currencies with minimal modification."

The Self-Service Shredder crosscut shreds paper, cardboard, credit cards, paper clips, staples, CDs, DVDs, and floppy disks. The industrial-strength shredder, featuring multiple control points for maximum safety, can shred up to 200 sheets of paper a minute. Depending on the model purchased, The Self-Service Shredder will accept access codes and/or cash. Each customer can program the kiosk for the time/cost package they want to offer.
